Want to know what to do with all those Perler beads crafts your children make? I’ve got a great idea for you!
My kids love to play with Perler beads. I must say, when they were younger, it was the best thing to help develop their fine dexterity. Now, I still really like when they play with them, but for different reasons! They get so absorbed in the pattern they’re making, it gets really quiet around the house!!!! 😛
In order to use all the patterns they make, I decided to frame them! It makes a great wall art and it’s very cheap to make! Plus, it makes them proud to see their art on the wall!

Required materials
- Perler beads (or Hama beads)
- Perler beads square pegboards
- Iron
- IKEA frames
- Glue (I have used the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive but the E6000 glue can also do the trick)
- Command mini hook
My children were in a Super Mario Bros mania and made all these Perler beads (but can you find the intruder that is not completely Mario related? haha!!)
You can follow this link to have access to all the patterns.
I bought those frames at IKEA (of course!). The Fiskbo frames come in different sizes and are very cheap.
First, for the background picture, I used a free Super Mario Bros background that I found doing a simple Google search and printed it on my printer.
Then, I glued the Perler beads on top of the acrylic glass.
And finally, I used Command Mini Hooks to hang them on the wall.
Here’s the final result.
If you want to know how to make the Super Mario Bros star, just see the previous blog post.
