During the month of March, I participated in the $100 Room Challenge hosted by Erin at Lemons, Lavender and Laundry. For this challenge, I chose to makeover our Bathroom.

Our bathroom already had some great elements, but there were some things that I wanted to do for a while now, like this rope mirror!
Now, it took me a looooong time to figure out how to attach the rope. The reason was that I wanted it to look real clean and not have a bulky knot.
But I couldn't find the kind of hardware to make it happen. Gladly, I have a lot of imagination and came up with an idea! 😉
I dug out of a box an old leather strap that used to belong to a bag (sometimes, I wonder why I keep these things, but now, I was really happy about it!!)
I cut off 2 pieces
And then made two holes on both of them.
Took the smallest screws I could find and made a hole using tape on the drill bit to make sure I didn't pass through the mirror's frame (yeah, washi tape, were fancy people!!)
Fold the leather strap and use a washer to screw it to the mirror. Apply glue on the screw.
Then, use clamp to keep it in place till the glue dries
Pass the rope through the leather and glue the 2 pieces of rope together. Use burlap twine to hide the glue and make it look like the twine is holding the rope together.
And there you have it! Not my first intention but way better than a big knot. To my taste anyway! (and a lot cheaper than any hardware I could have bought)
A before and after shot to go with it!
